Why We Started?

Hashbranch was founded by engineers and innovators who wanted to transform how mining services are delivered. We saw that:

ASICs are often run in poor conditions or purchased at the wrong time

Investors felt that there was an absence of transparent practices and dependable partners

Facilities struggled with sales and client management on top of operations.

So, we built a platform that solves these challenges by giving investors instant access to mining hardware, contracts, and hosting. We also provide transparent metrics and streamlined operations that help facilities and clients succeed together.

Tom Merkle, CEO and Co-Founder of Hashbranch, studied Mathematics at Willamette University and began an MS in Computer Science at Georgia Tech before focusing full-time on Bitcoin mining. At UiPath, he worked from Series C through IPO, leading enterprise automation initiatives for Fortune 500 companies. His expertise in software, sales, and supply chain management drives Hashbranch’s mission to deliver secure and profitable mining services.

With extensive experience across NASA centers and SpaceX, he has led groundbreaking NASA-funded projects, including the first university-developed 3D-printed rocket engines. As the former CEO of Tri-D Dynamics, he guided the team to a successful exit (ASX: TTT). Deepak has filed multiple patents in aerospace manufacturing and has earned recognition from Aviation Week, the LA Business Journal, and as a Forbes 30 under 30 recipient for his contributions to aerospace, energy, and manufacturing innovation.

Recognizing inefficiencies with deploying capital and managing risk in the Bitcoin mining industry, he left his Computer Science Master’s program at Georgia Tech to build Hashbranch’s institutional-grade mining platform. At UiPath from Series C through its IPO, he guided enterprise transformations and led product initiatives that scaled automation across Fortune 500 companies. Throughout his career, Austin has managed several multi-million dollar capital deployments, navigating complex transactions. Austin’s holds a B.A. in Urban Studies & Economics from Vassar College. Outside of work, he is passionate about learning about different cultures and languages, exploring the local and foreign food scenes and staying active in professional and charitable organizations.
